George Westinghouse formed the company in the early 19th century designing products such as frost-free refrigerators and freestanding automatic washing machines. In 1975 White Consolidated industries acquired Westinghouse and the company was renamed White-Westinghouse. White-Westinghouse are now owned by the Swedish giant Electrolux.
